Volunteering FAQs

Below are some of the frequently asked questions about volunteering at concert dates:

1.  If I volunteer for a Brad Paisley show, do I need to pay for a ticket?
No, Water = Hope will provide for your entrance, you do not have to pay for a ticket to the concert to volunteer.

2.  What will I be doing?
You will be building support for Water = Hope by talking to as many fans as possible! Volunteers typically spend their time floating around the concert venue – the merchandise areas and ‘pavilions’ and the lawn areas – talking to fans about Water = Hope and encouraging them to sign up as a supporter and to make a small donation. It can sound intimidating, but it’s really fun – people are in a good mood at a concert and really receptive to volunteers, and it is exciting to get to talk to so many people about something you care about! Some volunteers will also help out at the Water = Hope booth if needed.

3.  How will I know what to do?
We provide all of our volunteers with lots of training before starting, so you’ll know the ins and outs of the campaign, what to say, how to approach people, etc. We also make sure all volunteers work in pairs, and we have two staff campaigners touring with the band who will be on site training and providing support all evening.

4.  Can my friends help?
Sure! We encourage groups to sign up, this is a really fun and rewarding volunteer experience for groups, in fact. However, we need each person in a group to fill out the form on our volunteer page, or the group leader to fill out the form with all contact info for each person. We only have a limited number of spots available for volunteers each show date, so we have to have a complete list of volunteers before each show – we are typically not able to bring in anyone who shows up the day of to volunteer, which is why it’s important for everyone to sign up before hand and receive a confirmation email from us.

5.  How do I know for sure if I am volunteering? How do I know where to go, when to be there?
All volunteers will receive a confirmation email far in advance of their show date letting them know that we have them confirmed as volunteering. The email will also contain info about where to meet, when to be on site, contact info for our touring campaigners, etc.

6.  Can kids volunteer?
We are open to having youth volunteer on the Brad Paisley tour, just remember that it is a concert environment, and they will need to feel comfortable talking to people about the campaign. Typically, we ask volunteers be at least 13, and that any volunteer under 16 be accompanied by an adult.

7.  What if I want to do more than just a concert date?
Then we really want to talk to you! We are very much so looking for individuals whom are interested in being leaders in their communities and on their campuses. Please make a note in the ‘message’ box of the volunteer sign up form that you want to be involved beyond the concert date, and we will provide you with information on how to get involved as an organizer.
